'Spring Bonnet' (Parentage unknown): off white center, strong purplish pink to margin, blotch area reddish purple, overlapping petals 2 to 2"; open habit, 4--5' in 10 years; excellent foliage.

parentage unknown;  semi-evergreen, foliage excellent and ample at blooming time; 10-year-old plant 41/2 to 5 feet, somewhat open in habit;  flower single 2  to 23/4 inches diameter, 2 to 3 per head, lobes nicely overlapping; a garden effect of clear pale pink, center of each flower almost white with a deepening tone to the margins of pale amaranth pink, almost amaranth pink on actual margin (Ridgeway), dots of blotch area distinct, darking, when on the deeper tones of the lobes, to tyrian pink; stamen 5 to 8, pistol normal;  blooming in early May in Mississippi.
